The Birth of UFO-Reports.com
UFO-Reports.com was originally registered and launched in 2007 as a small hobby website dedicated to being an online UFO Reports Archive website. The earliest archived version available on the Wayback Machine dates to late fall of that year. The original owner maintained the site with regular updates until around 2017–2018 but kept it online for many years to follow.
When I (SpaceCowboy) revived the domain in 2026, one of my main goals was to honor the original owner’s work and continue the traditions they established — particularly the yearly summary pages and coverage of classic cases. I purchased the domain when I found it available to revive it which I talk about more on this UFO Sighting page.
In effort to maintain the original owners tradition I kept Annual UFO Reports and brought them all the way to 2026. I have added some content and sadly some of the original content that I attempted to restore from the original didn’t transfer well due to old outdated coding of an earlier era. At the time of writing this I don’t plan to create new pages highlighting the coming years but keep updates flowing in the form of News & Updates style posting. Another tradition from the old site was the Classic Cases that I do plan to extend fairly extensively with time and there was a page dedicated to crop circles that I felt should be part of this revival too. One of the neatest things about these Annual UFO Report update pages are little hints on some of them progressing how UFO disclosure has evolved from 2007 to today. And I love that and am fascinated with finding humor in the news that shows denial to things then that they’re openly acknowledging now!
2007 UFO Highlights
December 19, 2007 – Japan Officially Acknowledges UFOs
In a notable statement, a Japanese government spokesman confirmed that Unidentified Flying Objects do exist. When pressed on their policy, officials stated that if a flying saucer were spotted in Japanese airspace, fighter jets would be scrambled for visual confirmation. The response stood in contrast to the more stereotypical bureaucratic answers often given on the subject.
November 12, 2007 – National Press Club UFO Conference
A significant press conference was held at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., moderated by former Arizona Governor Fife Symington. The event featured an impressive panel of pilots, military officers, and government officials calling for the United States to reopen official investigations into the UFO phenomenon.
November 6, 2007 – NASA Agrees to Release Kecksburg Documents
After years of resistance and legal pressure from investigative journalist Leslie Kean, NASA agreed to search its archives for documents related to the 1965 Kecksburg UFO incident in Pennsylvania.
October 4, 2007 – Planet-Forming Dust Belt Discovered
Using NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope, astronomers identified a massive belt of warm dust around a young star, appearing to be in the early stages of planet formation.
September 19, 2007 – Peruvian Meteorite Incident
A meteorite crash in southern Peru created a large crater and reportedly sickened nearly 200 villagers with toxic fumes rising from the site. The event generated significant local mystery and media attention.
September 3, 2007 – Massive Fireball Over the Atlantic
Hundreds of witnesses along the East Coast from South Carolina to New Jersey reported seeing a large fireball crash into the ocean. The Coast Guard searched the area but found no debris.
August 30, 2007 – NASA Tests New Methane Rocket Engine
NASA successfully tested a new rocket engine running on liquid methane. The technology offers several advantages, including the potential for astronauts to produce fuel on other planets for return trips.
August 12, 2007 – MUFON International UFO Symposium
The 38th annual MUFON symposium was held in Denver, Colorado, featuring prominent speakers including Stanton Friedman, Richard Dolan, and many others.
July 28, 2007 – X-48B Blended Wing Aircraft Test
NASA and Boeing successfully flew the experimental X-48B “flying wing” aircraft. Some observers speculated whether advanced or unconventional technology influenced its design.
March 19, 2007 – Former Arizona Governor Admits Seeing Phoenix Lights
Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington publicly confirmed he had witnessed the massive triangular craft during the famous 1997 Phoenix Lights event, describing it as enormous and “not of this world.”
